Two Year Progress Update

​   To work towards our goal of transparency and engagement with the Detroit community, the Office of Sustainability developed a Sustainability Action Agenda 2-year progress update. This update shares progress the City and community partners have made on each of the four outcomes, 10 goals, and 43 actions defined in the 2019 Sustainability Action. It also highlights notable success stories, tracks metrics for success over time, and shares upcoming projects and initiatives to watch for in the community.   1. Increase access to healthy food, green spaces, and recreation opportunities
  2. Improve air quality and reduce exposure to pollution
  3. Advance equity in access to economic opportunity

Affordable, Quality Homes

  1. Reduce the total cost of housing, including utilities
  2. Improve the health and safety of existing and new housing

Clean, Connected Neighborhoods

  1. Transform vacant lots into safe, productive, sustainable spaces
  2. Reduce waste sent to landfills
  3. Make it easier and safer to get around Detroit without a personal vehicle

Equitable, Green City

  1. Enhance infrastructure and operations to improve resilience to climate impacts
  2. Reduce municipal and citywide greenhouse gas emissions
