Our Mission

To advance climate action in Detroit by leading initiatives that reduce emission, increase resilience, and improve residents’ quality of life.

The Office of Sustainability is a resource and advocate for a sustainable and resilient Detroit. The Office supports departments city-wide to advance bold climate goals set by the Sustainability Action Agenda and the Detroit Climate Strategy. Climate Strategy

The Detroit Climate Strategy was published in November 2023 and outlines 35 bold actions that guide our approach to addressing climate change.

The four key areas we are working to address are:
