What is a slow street?

A slow street is a residential street with some form of traffic calming, such as speed cushions and signage to help you access key destinations such as parks and schools within your neighborhood. The goal is to create a low-stress, safe network of streets for walking, biking, scootering, etc. to explore Detroit's neighborhoods. Check out our draft map of slow streets.
