Detroiters have shown great enthusiasm for Project Clean Slate - from January 1, 2021, through October 1, 2021, over 10,000 people have registered for Project Clean Slate.
 
Project Clean Slate has helped over 1,200 residents get their criminal records expunged since 2018.  The expungement legislation was expanded and took effect in April of this year.  

As a result, the number of Detroiters eligible for expungement more than doubled! It is estimated that 168,000 Detroit residents are eligible for expungement. Since the new legislation took effect, Project Clean Slate has filed for more than 1,000 convictions to be expunged.

If you have not previously registered with Project Clean Slate and are a current Detroit resident, please complete the registration form linked below. After registration, please be sure to complete and e-sign your Waiver and Consent that will be sent to the email you used to register.
