CRIO’s roles include monitoring large construction project compliance, maintaining a construction workforce pipeline, certifying and promoting Detroit businesses, and mediating civil rights complaints.

  • Skilled Trades Employment Program: The STEP program is an agreement between the local unions and the City of Detroit. Under the agreement, incentives are provided to local unions to recruit and retain qualified Detroiters within all sectors of the construction workforce.
  • Detroit Business Opportunity Program: It is the goal if the Detroit Business Opportunity Program (DBOP), to increase & promote growth for Detroit’s business community through visibility, capacity building, & network expansion while assisting Detroit Businesses to be the driving force in Detroit’s economy.
  • Language Access Program: The Language Access Program developed from the Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Plan and was created to be in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The page provides an overview of Title VI and the LEP Plan.
