Halloween in the D
Each year the City of Detroit celebrates Halloween in the D. This family-friendly celebration includes a host of Halloween activities at police precincts, recreation centers and fire stations. Over 30,000 Detroit youth and their families take part in activities with over 225,000 pieces of candy distributed. We also recognize the contributions of residents that serve year-around as volunteers with their block clubs, community organizations and area radio patrols in each City Council district.
Our team has had to navigate many changes in the city due to the Covid-19 pandemic and we are determined to pull off Halloween in the D safely. We will provide Halloween cheer and entertainment to our youth all while following the recommendations of the CDC and our local Health Dept. Our police precincts and fire stations will be set up as Halloween drive-throughs this year to continue to engage community members while providing safe activities and allowing our youth to get the full Halloween experience.
