Erma Henderson Marina

The Marina is named after civil rights advocate and first Black City Council woman, Erma L. Henderson. Erma served on Detroit’s city council from 1972 -1985 where she served as Council President.

The marina occupies 15 acres along the Detroit River and is convenient to all of downtowns attractions. The marina underwent a $6 million renovation project that began in March 2000 which upgraded the facility to a modernistic marina. It is celebrated for encouraging diversity within the city of Detroit during a time of economic growth.
