Notice of Funding Availability
The City of Detroit allocates funds through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to strengthen public-private partnerships in order to achieve the following goals:
- Produce mixed-use, mixed-income multifamily housing developments in the city's neighborhoods through both new construction and adaptive reuse of existing structures.
- Preserve current affordable housing stock in both public and private sector control and thereby reduce loss of existing well-located affordable housing.
- Develop supportive housing for homeless families, individuals, and veterans.
- Produce infrastructure to support housing, including entitlement-eligible public improvements such as open space, landscaped areas, and related infrastructure near areas of concentrated housing.
- Create a reliable pipeline of these projects for future funding rounds.
- Provide opportunities for and support development by first-time, small-scale, community-based organizations/entities.

Current Development Opportunities Accepting Proposals
900 Clairmount
In partnership with the Detroit Building Authority, the City of Detroit’s Housing and Revitalization Department and Planning and Development Department seek proposals from qualified entities to rehabilitate the existing building at the northeast corner of Clairmount and the Lodge Service Drive at the edge of the Piety Hill neighborhood. 900 Clairmount is approximately 25,000 square feet (0.57 acres) and contains an approximately 11,500 square foot two story building that was previously used as a motel. The City of Detroit seeks well-designed and financially feasible proposals for the rehabilitation that will remove blight and provide new residential opportunities, building on the inherent strengths of the site and integrating it seamlessly with the surrounding neighborhood. Clairmount serves as a gateway from the Woodward corridor to the historic Virginia Park and Boston Edison communities. Located just west of the site is the Herman Kiefer Hospital campus, the site of a large scale commercial mixed-use redevelopment.

3124-3136 Brush and 420-430 Erskine
In partnership with the Detroit Building Authority (DBA), the City of Detroit’s Housing and Revitalization Department (HRD) and Planning and Development Department (PDD) seek proposals from qualified entities to design and construct new mixed-income housing in the heart of the Brush Park neighborhood. The development site is located at 3124-3136 Brush and 420-430 Erskine at the southeast corner of Brush Street and Erskine Street. The site is approximately 17,500 square feet, or 0.4 acres. The City of Detroit seeks well-designed proposals for new development that will build upon the inherent strengths of the site and integrate the site seamlessly with the surrounding neighborhood.
