This ordinance amends Chapter 26 of the 2019 Detroit City Code, Law Enforcement, by adding Article V, Release of Incident footage, to include Section 26-5-1, Definitions, Section 26-5-2, Required release of incident footage; manner of release; duration; compilation permissible, Section 26-5-3, Release timeline of incident footage, Section 26-5-4, Exceptions to release of incident footage; good faith effort to release, Section 26-5-5, Notice to affected Parties, and Section 26-5-6, Legal Process, in order to foster government transparency.
